12 Ways to Look and Stay Younger Right Now

  1. Rest: The world moves at a faster pace, but our bodies still crave – and need – 7-8 hours of sleep every night. Lack of sleep releases cortisol, which causes rapid aging. Consider melatonin or other natural sleep remedies if you have trouble falling or staying asleep.
  2. Use sunblock every morning: Even if it’s overcast and you’ll be inside most of the day, apply SPF 30 sunblock every day. Daily sun protection pays off with big returns in skin health.
  3. Take your vitamins: Your body probably needs extra nutrients and supplements. Start with calcium, trace elements, and extra B vitamins. Antioxidants – any and all of them – help to keep you skin healthy.
  4. Avoid randomly touching your face: We rub our eyes, touch our nose, scratch our ears and touch our faces all the time. That spreads bacteria all over the face.
  5. Visit your dentist: Tooth loss can cause a major amount of bone loss in the upper or lower jaw, leading to all sorts of shadows and unusual wrinkles and contours. Prevention is the key.
  6. Drink a glass of water for every glass of caffeinated beverages or alcohol: Caffeine and alcohol are dehydrating. Just add a glass of water to each of these beverages throughout the day to stay hydrated – your skin will show the difference.
  7. Avoid exposure to smoke: Don’t smoke, and don’t be around others who do. Smoking quickly and dramatically ages the skin. Simply put: Smoking and skin health do not mix.
  8. Dab Retin-A on your face every night: With just a pea-sized amount each night after cleansing, Retin-A reverses the effects of sun damage. In fact, more studies show the positive effect of Retin-A on the skin than any other compound in the world.
  9. Use Botox to avoid facial wrinkles: Botox works. It’s the ultimate wrinkle eraser for the upper part of your face. The results appear in 3-5 days and last for months.
  10. Value minimal exercise: Take the stairs. Park in the far corner of the parking lot. Go for a walk after meals. Small acts, in addition to regular workouts, make a big difference on your body.
  11. Appreciate: Appreciation and gratitude lower the heart rate and blood pressure, and simultaneously release positive chemicals in your brain. Try it and see just how remarkable life can be.
  12. View food as pharmacy: Think about food as pharmacy to reduce the emotional connection, which makes dietary changes a lot easier. The benefits – especially if you eat more vegetables – quickly show up in your skin.
